CEM BURSARY

“Disaster Forum offers a bursary program where we pay $400.00 to individuals who obtain their CEM designations and pay the $325 USD fee to IAEM. The bursary is intended to reimburse that registration fee.

2009 CEM Bursary Winner Murielle Provost

Murielle is the Manager, Emergency Preparedness for Saint John, NB Emergency Management Organization and was granted her CEM designation in October of 2009.

Building on her prior successful careers both as a naval officer and family life educator, Murielle has been contributing to the Emergency Management profession for the past 15 years. This experience has included working in sectors such as the not for profit, local government, private consulting and health. Blessed with many rich experiences, her most memorable was in 1998 when she served the families of the Swissair 111 crash as the coordinator for all the emergency social services in Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia. Today, in addition to her duties as the Manger of Emergency Preparedness for the City of Saint John, she is President of the Emergency Management Association of Atlantic Canada, as well as Co-Chair of the Training, Education and Professional Development Committee of the International Association of Emergency Managers, Canada.

2009 CEM Bursary Winner Steve LaRochelle

Steve works in emergency management with the Region of Waterloo and qualified for the CEM designation in the fall of 2009. Congratulations to Steve on earning the CEM designation! We wish him continued success with his ongoing work within the profession and in furthering the emergency preparedness within the Region of Waterloo.
